Herbal Tea for Headache and Migraine

This tea contains all wild herbs that are based on traditional Chinese medicine. This formula is designed to bring relief to many types of headaches including migraine headache pain. Radix Angelica Root is the dried root of Angelica Dahurica, a Chinese herb. It is used to eliminate headache, particularly pain in the forehead, and stuffed nose due to cold; sinusitis; toothache; excessive leucorrhea; swelling and pain of sores and wounds.

Peppermint is the dried aerial part of Mentha haplocalyx Briq. or Herbal Menthae. It is used against headache in influenza, upper respiratory infection and other epidemic febrile diseases at the initial stage; inflammation of the eye, sore throat, ulcers in the mouth; rubella measles; discomfort with feeling of distension in the chest and hypochondriac regions.

This herb is the rhizome of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort. (family Umbelliferae) which is mainly produced in the Sichuan province. It is promoting blood circulation, the flow of qi and eliminating headaches to relieve pain.

Directions:  Infuse 1 teabag in a glass of boiling water for one minute or bring it to the desired strength. Remove the teabag
                  and the cup of tea is ready for serving.

Ingredients: Rhizoma Lignstici Chuanxiong, Radix Angelicae, Herba Menthae and Green Tea.

Try to avoid everything that triggers migraine or severe headaches. Triggers of migraine headache vary among individuals and include behavioral factors, foods, hormones, medicines, lights, odors, or other environmental factors. The most common migraine triggers are:

  • Stress (either during a stressful time or right after stress subsides).
  • Menstrual cycle in women.
  • Changes in sleep—either getting too much or too little sleep.
  • Fasting or skipping meals.
  • Changes in barometric pressure or the weather.
  • Bright light or reflected sunlight.
  • Foods such as chocolate.
  • Excessive caffeine or caffeine withdrawal.
